Supporting Quad Cities culture makes practical sense. As an investment, it creates a
vibrant community by strengthening the economy, improving education, and bettering
our quality of life.
The five beneficiary organizations of the Quad City Cultural Trust have profound impacts on our community. Together, the Figge Art Museum, Putnam Museum, Quad City Botanical Center, Quad City Symphony Orchestra, and River Music Experience provide valuable, educational cultural experiences to 350,000 individuals each year. By providing such engaging experiences, the beneficiary organizations serve not only individual residents but also our community as a whole, helping to attract new employers and employees to our area and helping retain those that are already here.
These five entities also are a significant driver of our local economy. Together, they are responsible for an estimated $15,365,040 in economic activity annually, both from their own spending and as a result of event-related spending by their audiences (e.g., spending for meals or lodging before or after cultural events). This $15,365,040 in annual spending in turn supports an estimated 421 full-time equivalent jobs in our community.*
By supporting these five key cultural organizations, the Quad City Cultural Trust is advancing a vibrant community and helping to ensure its sustained growth.
*Local estimates were derived using the Arts and Economic Prosperity Calculator, developed by Americans for the Arts and Georgia Institute of Technology economists with support from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation.
